This is the third year that the Ballymena shopping centre has partnered with Dogs Trust; a similar project last year resulted in seven dogs being rehomed and nearly £1,000 raised for Dogs Trust.
Tower Centre’s Centre Manager Colette Lyness says, “We have enjoyed an extremely successful partnership with Dogs Trust and are delighted to help in this very important work. From 17th May to 7th June, Tower Centre shoppers can meet some of Dogs Trust’s dogs, talk to a Dogs Trust representative and have the opportunity to adopt an abandoned pet.
“The initiative last year resulted in seven out of ten dogs finding a new home. We hope that we can get even more dogs rehomed through this year’s initiative.”
Ronnie Milsop, Campaigns Manager of Dogs Trust says, “This is a great opportunity for us to bring our four legged friends out and about to meet people in Ballymena who might be aware of us but have not seen our dogs or know about all of the work we do. Dogs Trust works tirelessly throughout the year to care for abandoned or stray dogs and we hope that the Tower Centre’s initiative will help us find some of the lovely dogs a new home.”
Following Tower Centre’s activity last year, the number of people visiting the Dogs Trust Rehoming Centre (near Ballymena) increased by 15%. Dogs Trust activity will take place from 12pm – 4pm every Saturday from 17th May – 7th June. For further information, visit www.towercentre.com
